Simmer Pot Recipes

I’ve mentioned on the podcast that I really have a deep love for simmer pots to cleanse, protect and in general add aromatherapy to the home. My Sunday afternoons always feel so empty when i don’t set a pot on the stove after lunch. I’ve mentioned a few scent combos on the podcast, but wanted to share some of my favorite blends. All of these have great magick associations, but I will leave those interpretations to you so you can fit these into your own kitchen witchery.

Autumn Goodness:

Ingredients:
1-2 apples (any type), sliced
3-4 cinnamon sticks (1-2 T ground or 10-15 drops essential oil)
10-12 star anise (whole, or 1-2 T ground)
10-15 whole cloves (or 5-10 drops essential oil/1-2 t ground)
1/4 C lavender (or 5-10 drops essential oil)
2 C water

Fresh Prince of Stale Air:

Ingredients:
1-2 lemons, sliced
1-2 oranges, sliced
5-10 fresh mint leaves (1-2 T dried and chopped, 5-10 drops essential oil)
2 C water

Garden Goddess:

Ingredients:
4-5 sprigs fresh rosemary
4-5 sprigs of fresh thyme
4-5 basil leaves
1-2 lemons, sliced
2 C water

Sweeten The Pot:

Ingredients:
1-2 apples, sliced
1 C cranberries (fresh)
1 T honey
2-3 cinnamon sticks (1 T ground, 5-7 drops essential oil)
1 T vanilla extract or oil
2-3 sprigs cedar (or 5-10 drops essential oil)
2 C water

Winter is Coming:

Ingredients:
1 large orange, sliced
1 C fresh or frozen cranberries
1 T vanilla extract or essential oil
10 – 15 whole cloves
2 cinnamon sticks (or 5 drops essential oil)
5-10 drops cedarwood essential oil, pine or similar (or fresh is you have it)
2 C water
