A little belated, but I wanted to share a quick post regarding the few books I managed to finish in October. Last month was incredibly busy and I wasn’t able to dedicate nearly the time I wanted for reading. Alas, I did manage to wrap up three books on my list.
First on my list was a re-read of Llewellyn’s Sabbat Essentials – Samhain. I’m fond of the Sabbat Essentials series and try to flip through each volume annually. As with all in the series, the book features lore, religious tie-ins to the holiday, recipes to add to any great Samhain feast and plenty of craft and ritual ideas.
Second was a quick read – A Tea Witch’s Grimoire by SM Harlow. This short book is 98% filled with yummy tea recipes and I found the recommended blends to be realistic and well crafted. I’m anxious to try a number of them! Recipes for all occasions have been provided including Sabbat teas, remedies and potions (of course!). Not to mention the cover is adorable and matches that cozy witch aesthetic.

Lastly, I finished The Witchy Homestead by Nikki Van De Car. This had been on my wishlist for a while and I was pleased to find it during a bookshop haul. The book focuses on recipes and tips for self-reliant witchcraft without the commercial fluff. The topics range from outdoor altars to foraging and planting an organic garden. I appreciated the grounded approach of the book and the constant reminder that witchcraft is an Earth-based practice that provides us everything we need.
Here’s hoping that I can tackle more of my To Be Read pile before gremlin #2 makes his debut!
Until next time, bu-bye!
